My new phone…. or rather… phones…

I believe you know about the sad story of how my Sony Ericsson Z610i and I parted ways. Don’t want to think about it anymore. So depressing. It’s the prettiest phone I’ve ever had and it will always be remembered.

For the past one month, I’ve been using Mumzie’s phone. Poor Mumzie has to use back her old phone coz I stupidly forgot to bring the charger over to Singapore. Oh well, what to do?

Anyway, I decided to get the Nokia 5610 XpressMusic using Paro’s plan because the student promotion was ending before my plan was due for an upgrade. I saw the real thing first at work. Rooney has the phone. I just love red!!!!!!!!! My very first new phone was a red Samsung clamshell. SGH-S200 I think. Anyway, just for interest sake, the following is the evolution of phones owned by me till now.

So, back to the Nokia phone I bought, it’s a lousy thing. The first unit I got, on the first startup, the screen was blank! I never even got to see what was in it! Got a one time exchange from Singtel the very next day. Poor Paro had to go again with me coz it was under her name. The second unit I got, the screen died on me 10 days later. W.S.O.D. (white screen of death). Sent it in to the Nokia Care Centre and till now, I STILL haven’t got it back. I must say Nokia service sucks to the max. I was told that I could collect it in about a week. 2 weeks have past… no… actually more than 2 weeks, and it’s still not ready. I called in earlier and they said they would list it as “Urgent”. Urgent? My foot. Btw, they put you on hold for 20 minutes each time before you can even talk to one of their customer service officers! If that’s not bad enough, I called in again this afternoon to check on the status. STILL waiting for parts! Can you believe it?!!! The person who attended to me said that I will be contacted by the manager within 48 hours for an explanation for the delay. I’m so pissed off. They better have a good reason.

I got so annoyed by the problems this Nokia phone gave me. So, on my birthday, since I was in town, I decided to get myself another phone under my own Singtel plan. I got myself a trusty Sony Ericsson W910i. Another one to add to my history of red phones. Just look how pretty it is.. heehee….. Love love.

It has yet to give me any problems (touch wood) and I certainly hope none ever. I kinda like Sony Ericsson coz my previous experience with the Z610i was a good one. No problems whatsoever. All my Samsung phones have a tendency to die shortly after the warranty expires. So, I guess this is a good choice. Anyway, if you’re wondering what I’m going to do with my Nokia, no… I’m not going to be selling it. I asked Dad and he told me to bring it back home the next time I go back. He probably wants to play around with it… hehe… In the meantime, it shall act as my spare phone and “toy”. If I ever get it back that is….
