CNY

Ok, now for the CNY post.

CNY this year was a little different for me as I didn’t go home. Usually I go back to Ipoh, but this time, coz I only had 4 days holiday and I was on internship (or else I would self declare my holidays!) I couldn’t get tix home. Sad… but oh well… have to make the best out of it. I shamelessly invited myself over to my uncle and aunt’s place on CNY eve and stayed there till the 3rd day! HAHAHA! Well, it’s ok… I would have been invited over anyway if my uncle hadn’t forgotten that I was not going home for CNY this year.

We had steamboat for our reunion dinner… Not the usual thing we do if we’re back in Ipoh, but I think it’s quite common here in Singapore isn’t it? The next few days were the normal meals like those mushrooms, fatt choy (those hairy black watchamacallits), oysters, lotus root soup, abalone, fish, limpets (they sort of look similar to abalone), etc… Ahhh… I love cantonese style food… yum….

And what is CNY without the snacks? Pinapple tarts, kuih bankit, love letters, bak kua, prawn rolls (we finished 3 packets in 2 days! :P), prawn crackers, cashew nuts… Ok… now I feel really bad. Pimples are popping out! My one month of walking round the airport has just gone down the drain. (-_-”) But aparently, my cousins’ grandma said I’ve lost some weight… Rachel’s mom told me the same thing. Aparently I look better now. Good news? Muahahahaha.. yes. I’m too lazy to exercise this sem. Too tired once I get back from work. I sort of miss running on the treadmill in the gym downstairs and swimming…

The 3 days I was there, we spent it on a drama marathon. This korean series called Full House. I like the parts where the guy and the gal are always annoying each other, yelling at each other and arguing. Other than that, the plot was rrrrrrrrraaaaather draggy. But oh well, what can you expect from korean dramas? Thank goodness it was only 16 episodes.

Just before they sent me home, we went to the Botanic Gardens for lunch. We had this huuuummmmmoooonnngggous paper tosai. Too much of tosai for one person. Would have been better shared. But it was nice and crispy though…

So, that’s the end of my CNY, I’m back home lazing on the sofa once again. My cousin told me House MD Season 4 has another 3 episodes out! So, I’m going to watch it now!!! Yaye! Toodles!

Love, Debbie...
